This is a deciduous tree, native of China and also greatly extended in Japan, whose scientific name is Prunus salicina. It is commonly known as Chinese or Japanese plum tree and reaches heights of 10 metres. Its leaves are big (6‑12 cm long by 2.5‑5 cm wide), green and with saw toothed edges.
